Judge Raoudha Laabidi

President of Tunisia’s National Authority against Human Trafficking

 

About our guest speaker:

Judge Raoudha Laabidi has been serving in the Tunisian judicial system and courts since 1990. She is currently judge at the Court of Cassation and President of the Criminology Unit at the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies acting under the aegis the Tunisian Ministry of Justice (since 2011). She is President of the Tunisian National Authority against Human Trafficking (since 2017). She is the elected President of the Syndicate of Tunisian Magistrates (since 2011). She was elected Vice President of the Women Jurists Association (in 2012). Judge Laabidi is a member of the International Association of Women Judges, the Association of European Magistrates for Democracy and Freedoms (MEDEL), and Vice-President of the Tunisian Union for the Neutrality of the Administration.

Her research work and publications cover children’s rights in the Tunisian personal status code, disabled children rights in Tunisia, protection of children at risk in international conventions and Tunisian legislation. Ms. Laabidi has conducted field studies in prisons, schools and reintegration centers for young offenders around the country. Her studies cover juvenile delinquency, addiction, violence among young people and recidivism.

The Q&A will be conducted in Arabic.

They are co-hosted by CMES and CMES Tunisia, monthly on zoom, on Wednesdays, starting at 12:00 Boston-Time, 5:00pm Tunis Time.
