 **Understanding Violent Extremism in the Context of Tunisia?**

 A lecture by: **Rim Ben Ismail,** Clinical Psychologist, Project director of the ‘A Life After Guantanamo Program’ in Tunisia,

 Consultant for the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT), President of *Psychologues du Monde* – Tunisia

 Why did an important number of young Tunisians engage in extreme violence in the last two decades?

 Rim Ben Ismail works on violence and extremism among the youth in different regions of Tunisia.

 This presentation will feature the first findings from interviews and clinical observations conducted as part of a study on youth ‘radicalization’ experiences in the context of post-2011 Tunisia.
